Canada! (Day 1)

At the beginning of this month, my family got the chance to go outside the country! We got to go to Vancouver, Canada. We had so much fun! The trip started out a little rocky, but it turned out to be great! Sadly, my sister Jenny was not able to come with us because she was previously committed to working up at Brighton Girl's Camp. My Dad had a business trip there and we decided to make it a family vacation. My parents flew on a flight directly to Canada and my two sisters and I flew to Seattle Washington and then drove to Vancouver.

We had a bit of trouble getting there because our flight was delayed and then they told us that they couldn't fly because the water heater was broken. Then they got another plane, but it was considerably smaller and some people coudn't get in the flight. Luckily....
We were chosen!

So, we got in the plane and flew to Seattle. Now, considerably behind schedule, we got the rental car and began the drive to Canada. We had not had anything to eat since the bagels and scones we got at the airport, other than the peanuts they give you on the plan, which was definately not enough. After a while of driving, trying to make up for lost time, but not having much sucess, we stopped for some food. Melanie and Maggie both got a Diet Coke for a drink
Guess which one is Melanie's

Then began the trip across the border, The sign estimated about a 45 minute wait...

Better start thinking like a Canadian....

The supposed 45 minute wait, turned out to take over an hour. Ugh! But we finally got through the border and for the first time in my life, I entered another country.
Before we returned the car, we needed to fill it up. Oh boy was that a headache. We got off the freeway, and followed the signs that said ther was a gas station. Well, we found no gas station, we only found farmland. Then after we drove a little farther and got off the freeway again, we finally found a gas station.
Gas before pass! (Canada, that is...)
Then we finally got to the airport and returned the car. We took the sky train to the stop by our hotel, and after more than 8 hours of traveling and separation, we were finally reunited with our parents. We walked to the hotel and got checked in. Instead of expoloring the hotel or and fun stuff like that, we just shared our experiences with the parents, and went to bed.

Goodnight Maggie!

Sleepover!

Why do they call it a sleep over when you never sleep? Last night, I had a "sleepover" with my best friend Jourdyn and my sister Melanie. We started by watching When in Rome off the back of the house while enjoying slurpees and popcorn.

After the movie we went inside and Melanie gave us facial treatments with a clay mask that we picked up at Smith's.

After we washed off the at home spa treatment we went over to Jourdyn's house to "sleep". We played a fun game of Swap and then Jourdyn decided she was tired and we went to sleep around 1:30 in the morning.

Then At 4:00 in the morning we woke up because we were all on the ground. We moved out of the light and quickly went back to sleep. I think we finally rolled out of bed at 9:00 the next morning. Then we enjoyed some bagels and fruit, then packed up and went home. It was such a fun night!

Happy 24th!

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to go to the Tabernacle Choir Pioneer Day concert. Katherine Jenkins was the guest star and it was amazing! Ever since she was on Dancing with the Stars I have been a great fan of hers! I tried to find a little clip, but instead got the whole concert, so watch what you like.

Drawing!

No I am not an excellent artist, or even a good one, but tonight as we were sitting outside I got the sudden itch to draw with chalk. I know it's a little childish, but hey, I like being a child! Here is my artwork. Prepare to be impressed.....
Just to state the obvious....

Hard at work... Not really

My cartoon Family. I'm actually quite proud of them.... The parents are Bob and Paula and their son's name is Jake. (Just in case you can't read what it says)

The artist always has to sign her work...

Well, that is the extent of my artistic skills. I hope you enjoyed them!

Summer!

So I didn't fall off the face of the earth, I just have been really busy with school ending because all my teachers decided to dump a ton of work on me during the last three weeks of school. So anyways, now school is out and I can relax and chill all day long!
Here's the happenings of my life since May.....
I finished my first year of High School....

My wonderful sister Melanie Graduated....

I said good-bye to my beloved friend Maelys as she headed back to France. She was an exchange student and while she was here I introduced her to the wonders of a chocolate frosty.
We had our annual family barbeque....

So there you go.. that's what's been going on in my life. There you go Mom, I blogged.
